APEX Governance

APEX is governed by a Board of Directors, as incorporated by the association’s bylaws.

Election Process

APEX has a rich history of recruiting candidates from a talented membership base that bring insight and experience to meet the growing needs of the membership. Members of the APEX Board of Directors are elected by the APEX's membership. Each member airline and vendor company has one vote, cast by its designated voting member. Elections are conducted electronically each year and election results are formally announced at APEX EXPO. To adequately represent the industry, APEX bylaws require that the composition of the board of directors should include five or six airlines, within officers and directors.

The chair of the Nominating Committee is available to discuss intentions to join the APEX Board to clarify the role of the candidate should they get elected. Further, as a candidate you will have to provide the following documents to the Nominating Committee:

  • Endorsement from two APEX member companies. These companies should preferably not be in a direct client/supplier relationship with the candidate’s company.

  • A letter from your manager confirming the commitment of the company for the candidate to fulfil his/her obligations as a board member. Importantly, this will include your company’s pre-approval for provision of flights to attend board meetings. Hotel accommodation at board meetings is provided by the APEX, and at least two of the board meetings are held adjacent to industry events that you may have already planned to attend.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held each year at APEX EXPO for the purpose of receiving the annual reports of officers, directors, and committees as well as the transaction of other association business. All APEX members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the town hall forum designed to address membership needs and the future of the industry and organization.
