2012 TV Market Evaluations are in!

A terrific venue and a record 193 delegates made this year's TV Market Conference the best yet (held last month in Brighton, England). A total of 95 airlines were represented by CSPs at the event, with 18 airlines in attendance. Eleven countries were represented by exhibitors and 22 countries represented by all attendees. Overall, 93% of attendees surveyed ranked the 2012 TV Market Conference good or excellent, and plan on attending next year at the same rate (93%). The TV Market Task Force will use the survey results to help fine-tune next year's event. We are happy to announce the 2013 TV Market Conference will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, during 29 April - 1 May. Congratulations to Leigh Mantle (Inflight Productions) and the TVMC Task Group on a very well-received APEX event. APEX co-hosting China IFEC Summit 27-28 June 2012

China IFEC Summit 2012 is an annual event hosted by China Air Transport Association (CATA), co-hosted by Air Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and Civil Aviation Maintenance Association of China (CAMAC), which will ensure the participation of the engineering department of each Chinese airline. The theme of this year's show is Connectivity and Streaming -- the China IFEC Revolution Begins, and is being held 27-28 June in Beijing, China. Representatives from CATA, APEX, Air China, China Southern Airlines, Gogo Air, Rockwell Collins, Lufthansa Technik AG, and Inflight Magazine will be presenting at the event. Weibang Yuanhang Wireless Technology CO. Ltd. will conduct an air-ground communication field test at the summit. Most major airlines in China have already confirmed their participation, and the attendee list continues to grow. For detailed information visit here.

APEX members: Call for Avion Award Judges
APEX members, we need your help in nominating someone from your company to serve on the judging panel for the jury-based Avion Awards for "Best Single Achievement in Passengers Experience" and "Best Achievement in Technology." The Avion Awards, which honor the year's best achievements in the passenger experience, will be determined by a panel of judges comprised of individuals from member companies representing all sectors of the industry (airline, hardware, software, distributor, lab, service company, etc.). All member companies are encouraged to nominate an individual from their company to serve on the judging panel. To do so, complete the Judge Nomination form.

APOT.Asia 2012 registration is open!

In conjunction with IFSA (International Flight Service Association)and APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association), presented by Korean Air, APOT.Asia 2012 will take place on 12-14 June 2012 in Incheon, South Korea. The three-day event consists of top-notch educational sessions, an exhibition featuring premier suppliers of the onboard experience, a chef's competition and networking opportunities to build and strengthen business relationships. APEX TVMC draws record attendance

Nearly 200 airline professionals, content service providers and distributors attended the APEX TV Market Conference in Brighton, England, this week, the most participants ever garnered at this three-day event. The TVMC also had 50 booths, a record number for the conference. The speaker's presentations for the educational sessions held during the conference will be posted to the members' only section of the APEX website in one week. APEX Educational Event in Hamburg was a big success!

The APEX Educational Event focused on the onboard experience and brought in 127 delegates from 19 countries. The day consisted of interactive panel discussions and presentations covering cabin trends and passenger expectations, consumer electronics in the air, in-seat power, mood lighting, seat and IFE integration, the future of aviation and supply chain from the air framers' perspective. APEX board praises Linda Palmer for her service

After 16 years of serving on WAEA & APEX boards, Linda Palmer is coming off the board effective today (1 March 2012). This comes on the heels of Palmer deciding to retire from her position at Walt Disney Motion Pictures Studios Non-Theatrical. Linda is a treasured member of the APEX Board, and she will be missed greatly. APEX President Chris Babb (Delta) praised Linda's contributions to the Association and the industry as a whole. "Her enthusiasm, attention to detail and 'get-it-done' attitude have made her a pleasure to work with. To quote Ellie from Disney-Pixar's 'Up': Thanks for the adventure. Now go have a new one!'
