APEX Insight: The Airline Passenger Experience Association has announced a partnership with TripIt from Concur that will support APEX’s launch of its Official Airline Ratings program. The ratings initiative is designed to offer the airline industry a new way to measure the quality of a passenger’s experience.
APEX CEO Joe Leader officially inaugurated the 2016 APEX EXPO with a rundown of the rollout for the Official Airline Ratings program. Selected for its airline-neutral base of more than 13 million frequent flyers taking more than 100 million flights worldwide, the TripIt app from Concur will provide a unique platform to collect passenger ratings and verify data.

Passengers using the app will be able to use an Uber-esque five-star feature to rate flights as early as mid-November. The only airline rating system based entirely on validated data, ratings collected through to July 2017 will be used to determine award winners for outstanding performance in five categories: seat comfort, Wi-Fi, entertainment, cabin service and food and beverage. Ratings and awards will be announced annually at APEX EXPO.
