Etihad Furnishes The Residence with Exclusive DUXIANA Products

With a living room, separate bedroom and ensuite shower room, Etihad’s “The Residence” is arguably the most extravagant way to fly with a commercial airline. Now, the carrier has partnered with a Swedish bedding brand that prides itself on products based on ergonomic research and engineering.

Airline amenities supplier WESSCO International has partnered with luxury Swedish bedding brand DUXIANA to create a range of new bedding and accessories that will be introduced to The Residence, the three-room suite available to passengers traveling on Etihad Airways’ Airbus A380 aircraft.

The collaboration between WESSCO and the Swedish label has resulted in the creation of over 20 DUXIANA-branded items, such as pillows, pillow covers, duvets, towels, bathrobes and floor mats. First-class passengers on select Etihad flights will also see the introduction of DUXIANA-branded seat cushions.

The new products were designed to reflect modern Arabia. The color scheme, which includes white and bronze, was inspired by the hues of the architecture in and around Abu Dhabi.

“The Residence stands out as the pinnacle of luxury flying, and only a select few premium brands become a part of its guest experience. DUXIANA is regarded as the maker of the world’s best bed and bedding, so it was the perfect choice for creating the finest assortment of customized soft goods for this program. We worked closely with DUXIANA, going through many rounds of prototype sampling lasting more than a year to ensure the program looks and feels like an inseparable part of The Residence,” explained WESSCO International’s Chief Marketing Officer, Petros Sakkis.

DUXIANA’s products are already used by some of the world’s finest luxury hotels, including the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai and The Langham in New York.

Jamal Al Awadhi, head of Guest Experience, Etihad Airways, added, “This unique partnership is part of our continued efforts to invest in a superior flying experience by introducing high-quality products and leading luxury brands such as DUXIANA as part of our premium in-flight offering in First and in The Residence.”

This new collaboration follows WESSCO’s partnership with US online and mattress and sleep products company Casper for American Airlines, which won the 2018 IFSA Compass Award in the “Best Inflight Amenity” category and was a finalist in the “Best passenger Comfort Innovation” category of the 2018 Crystal Cabin Awards.
