Royal Jordanian launched a Bluebox Wow-powered wireless in-flight entertainment system on board its narrow-body fleet of Airbus A319s and A320s.

Royal Jordanian launched a new wireless in-flight entertainment service on Sunday. Sky Connect is powered by Bluebox Aviation Systems’ Bluebox Wow wireless IFE system and allows passengers flying on the airline’s four Airbus A319s and six A320 aircraft to stream movies and TV shows to their personal devices. The Jordanian flag carrier’s selection of content also includes music, games and airline information.

“We’re continually enhancing our passenger services across all touch points – and Bluebox Wow enables us to do that by delivering wireless IFE to passengers’ own devices.” – Stefan Pichler, Royal Jordanian

“We’re continually enhancing our passenger services across all touch points – and Bluebox Wow enables us to do that by delivering wireless IFE to passengers’ own devices. It is both a cost-effective and quick way of modernizing the IFE on part of our medium- and short- haul fleet,” said Stefan Pichler, Royal Jordanian’s president and CEO. According to Pichler, the airline selected Bluebox because of its “commitment to continually invest in new capabilities.” Pichler said that Bluebox’s upcoming technology advances will improve Royal Jordanian’s ability to deliver “even more” for passengers.

“We are delighted that Royal Jordanian has chosen Bluebox Wow,” said Kevin Clark, Bluebox’s CEO. “Both the technological innovation and the deployment model of Bluebox Wow make Royal Jordanian and its fleet of A319s and A320s a natural fit for Bluebox Wow – a solution that engages passengers with a variety of IFE content and offers airlines a flexible solution to the upgrade/retrofit question.”
