With great power comes great responsibility…and great business-class amenity kits. All airlines seek to achieve brand stickiness. To that end, United Airlines has teamed up with Sony Pictures to take Spider-Man to new heights.
Ahead of the July 2 premiere of Spider-Man: Far From Home, United is distributing limited-edition amenity kits to its Polaris business-class passengers (available in June and July), as well as airing a new in-flight safety video.
Each amenity kit features a themed pouch containing Spidey socks, an eye-mask, ear plugs, a toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, a pen, and Sunday Riley luxury skin-care products. Passengers can keep these items for further use upon arrival, or share them with their amazing friends.
Centered around a New York City bodega, the safety video features United CEO Oscar Munoz, as well as Spider-Man: Far From Home actors Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori. The video also sneaks in tribute to Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee.
“For decades, Spider-Man has consistently shown the importance of using power to do good and to keep the public safe. We also believe that our greatest responsibility is to keep our customers and crew safe on board our aircraft,” said Mark Krolick, United’s vice-president of Marketing, in a press release. “We are excited to have Spider-Man and his friends, along with our employees, bring new attention to the in-flight safety video and creatively engage customers on such an important announcement.”
Spider-Man: Far From Home, which features a United aircraft, will be available to watch on the airline’s in-flight entertainment systems later this year. In the meantime, customers are currently able to enjoy a collection of past Spider-Man films including: Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
