At ITB Berlin in March 2017, Qatar Airways launched its Qsuite business-class seating solution, which can be configured to create a double bed or a room for four depending on passenger needs – both attributes heralded as industry firsts in the business-class cabin.

Two months later, in June 2017, Qsuite entered service on board a Boeing 777 aircraft operating between Doha and London Heathrow. At the time of writing, the product has been installed on Qatar Airways’ seven Boeing 777-200LRs, 25 Boeing 777-300ERs, nine Airbus A350-900s and nine A350-1000s, and will appear on the remaining 34 A350 variants the carrier has on order with Airbus.

“We have set a new standard for the industry, one which demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the finest possible experience for our passengers” – Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways.

In the two years since its launch, Qsuite has won multiple awards, including the 2018 Crystal Cabin Award in the “Best Cabin Concept” category. In June 2019 at FTE EMEA in Istanbul, Turkey, Qatar Airways was awarded four of six regional Passenger Choice Awards for the Middle East by APEX, including “Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East” and “Best Overall Carrier in the Middle East.”

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, has said of the product, “We have set a new standard for the industry, one which demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the finest possible experience for our passengers.”
