Discover Airlines has partnered with Michelin-starred chef Egor Hopp to introduce a new Business Class menu across its short- and long-haul network. The dishes have been available since August 1 on flights departing from Frankfurt and Munich and will remain onboard for one year. The partnership marks the second time Discover Airlines has worked with a Michelin-starred chef as the airline continues investing in its onboard dining experience.
Michelin-Starred Dining Comes to Discover Airlines Business Class
Egor Hopp has created a selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts specifically for Discover Airlines. His dishes combine French cooking techniques with flavors influenced by his native Kazakhstan, while focusing on seasonal and high-quality ingredients.
Hopp has served as chef de cuisine at Setzkasten restaurant in Düsseldorf since 2023. Under his leadership, the restaurant earned a Michelin star for the second year in a row in 2026.
“Our guests fly with us into the most wonderful time of the year. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to make their travel experience special, starting right on board,” said Discover Airlines Head of Product Sebastian Kaiser. “In Egor Hopp, we’ve found a partner who stands for the highest quality and brings fresh inspiration to the kitchen.”
The new menu includes dishes such as sliced salmon fillet with cucumbers, radishes, and jalapeño dressing as an appetizer. One of the main courses features braised beef with Gruyère potato pralines, parsnip cream, pointed cabbage salad, and Pommery mustard jus.

For Hopp, the partnership is a natural fit because of the connection between food, travel, and different cultures. “I love combining different cuisines and culinary influences to continually reinterpret familiar dishes,” Hopp said. “For me, this fits perfectly with an airline that connects people with new countries, cultures, and, by extension, new flavors.”
The menu is available to Business Class passengers on both short- and long-haul flights departing from Frankfurt and Munich. By offering the dishes across both parts of its network, Discover Airlines is bringing the chef collaboration to a wider group of premium travelers.
This is not the first time the airline has worked with a Michelin-starred chef. In 2024, Discover Airlines partnered with chef Lukas Jakobi to create special menus for passengers.
The return to a Michelin-starred partnership two years later reflects the importance Discover Airlines places on food and beverage as part of its Business Class product. Rather than treating inflight dining as just a meal service, the airline is using culinary partnerships to make food a more memorable part of the travel experience.
Discover Airlines Continues Investing in Onboard Dining
The partnership with Hopp builds on Discover Airlines’ wider food and beverage strategy. Since its launch, the airline has worked with Gate Gourmet on its onboard catering program.
Through its “Gaumenfreude” concept, Discover Airlines introduces new menus three times a year across all cabin classes. The dishes are inspired by both German classics and international flavors from destinations across the airline’s network.
That approach gives Discover Airlines a way to regularly refresh its onboard menu while connecting the food experience with both its home market and the places its passengers are traveling to.

The collaboration with Hopp adds a more distinctive Business Class offering, with dishes created specifically for the airline by a chef with a clear culinary style. Airlines are increasingly using chef partnerships to elevate premium dining. These collaborations can help turn the meal into a stronger part of the overall passenger experience and give travelers something they may not expect from a leisure carrier.
For Discover Airlines, Hopp’s style fits especially well with that goal because his cooking brings together different cultures and flavors. That makes the menu feel closely connected to the idea of travel itself.
The year-long rollout gives the partnership a longer presence onboard. Passengers will have access to Hopp’s dishes through summer 2027, creating a more consistent Business Class offering across the airline’s network.
With its second Michelin-starred chef collaboration, Discover Airlines is continuing to make dining a bigger part of its premium experience. The new menu reinforces the airline’s goal of making the vacation experience begin from the moment passengers board.
