Warner Bros.’ DC extended universe extended a bit wider this week with an in-flight screening of The Joker on a special Iberia Express flight from Madrid to Copenhagen.

Just a few days after snatching up Oscars for Best Actor and Best Original Score at the 92nd Annual Academy Awards, The Joker took flight like a bat out of Gotham this week at a special Joker-themed event on Iberia Express flight I2 3730 from Madrid to Copenhagen.

APEX Content Market is the top in-flight entertainment conference. That’s no joke!

Passengers were surprised with free popcorn, earphones, mobile device holders and an in-flight screening of The Joker which, with 11 nominations, was the most nominated film for this year’s Oscars. The event also celebrated the launch of a host of Warner Bros. content onboard Iberia Express’ in-flight entertainment (IFE) platform, Club Express Onboard.

Provided by Immfly, the wireless IFE platform enables passengers on all Iberia Express flights to enjoy a wide variety of content for free. With the infusion of award-winning Warner Bros. content upping the Club Express Onboard cool factor, passengers might soon find themselves breaking into fits of maniacal, Joker-esque laughter of their very own.

Featuring everything from Oscar-winning dramas like A Star Is Born, with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, to fellow DC Comics blockbusters like Aquaman and even the wizarding world tweens of the Harry Potter universe, the Warner Bros. content portfolio also includes a host of popular television series, games, magazines, destination guides and more.

“Thanks to this new agreement, our passengers can enjoy the best entertainment onboard,” said Paloma Cabañas, head of Customer Experience and Inflight Services at Iberia Express. “One of our ongoing main objectives is to provide a differentiated experience to our customers. Onboard entertainment is a key component of our value proposition, as demonstrated in the perception our passengers shared in recent satisfaction surveys.”

Immfly recently became the first IFE company to receive an investment from Boeing’s HorizonX venture capital division.
