During an interview at Aviation Festival in London last week, Routehappy’s CEO Robert Albert joked that before even his company was acquired by ATPCO, it was known as “the ATPCO of rich content.” Albert explained why he believes the combination of ATPCO’s pricing data and Routehappy’s rich content is “a fantastic outcome for the entire industry,” highlighting that the organization is now rolling out Routehappy Rich Content Solutions. The enterprise software platform, he said, is increasingly sophisticated and will allow airlines to create, store and manage all their rich content in one place.

McLaren F1 Designer Develops Manufacturing Technique That Could Apply to Aircraft Seating

Gordon Murray, the designer behind the McLaren Formula 1, the world’s fastest production car in the 1990s, has devised a manufacturing technique that he believes could be applied to aircraft seating. His studio, Gordon Murray Design, conceived of the iStream Superlight, which stands for “stabilized tube-reinforced exoframe advanced manufacturing,” to enable modular designs to be manufactured without a significant capital investment. The initial recycled carbon-fiber composite design is aimed at saving weight in passenger cars, but Murray says the seat has the potential to benefit other passenger transportation sectors, including aerospace.
