Air Europa Reveals Details About New Dreamliner Business-Class Cabin

Air Europa has provided details about its forthcoming business-class cabin that will be installed on three new Boeing 787-9s scheduled for delivery before the end of the year and on another 12 over the next five years. The leather-upholstered lie-flat seats will be deployed in a 1-2-1 configuration and will each come with 17-inch seatback displays. The Spanish carrier has not officially confirmed who the seat manufacturer is, but Business Traveller said that reports suggest it is Jamco’s Venture seat. Passengers in the new business-class cabin will also benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi, a new amenity kit and a revamped in-flight menu.

Airlines need to start preparing with their suppliers for the critical mass adoption of 5G technologies on the ground, said Philippe Combe, a product manager specializing in mobile for SITAONAIR. Speaking to Runway Girl Network, he said SITAONAIR is working to develop 5G-ready future-proof solutions that also support existing networks such as 3G and 4G. “We want to provide equipment on the aircraft that can support existing technology and also coming technology,” he said, adding the biggest change in a 5G world will be to support the demands of Internet of Things-enabled devices, which “will need multiple connections.”
