Boeing Holds Off on Full-Year Sales and Profit Forecast

Boeing posted its 2019 first-quarter results on Wednesday and said it would not provide its expected full-year sales and profit forecast. The US aerospace manufacturer gave no indication of when it would deliver an update to the 737 MAX’s anti-stall system, which was identified as a likely factor in the Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air crashes. As a result of the 737 MAX grounding, Boeing delivered approximately 50 fewer 737 aircraft than planned for the first quarter, contributing to a $1-billion decline in revenue for its commercial airplanes division.
