British Airways Partners for a Limited-Edition 2031 Onboard Whiskey

British Airways is creating a limited-edition whiskey in partnership with Scottish distillery InchDairnie, which will be served on board. However, there’s a catch: you’ll have to wait until 2031 to try it. The carrier’s staff joined distillers in Fife to start the process, mixing malted barley, water and yeast before distilling and pouring it into American oak casks, where the spirit will mature for the next 12 years. Kelly Stevenson, British Airways’ wine and beverage manager, said the end product “will be worth the wait.”

Sound Palate: Finnair's "Hear the Taste" Bisensory Experience

Finnair’s sonic-gustatory duet is now in its second iteration, with a Swedish-themed experience that couples chef Tommy Myllymäki and pop singer-songwriter Per Gessle from the musical act Roxette. The inaugural “Hear the Taste” paired items from the airline’s “East Meets West” menu, created by chef Steven Liu, with soundscapes composed of his recordings of nature in Nordic Lapland. The goal of the initiative is to both enhance taste at 35,0000 feet and build an emotional connection between the customer and the brand.
