Delta Air Lines announced it will carry Narcan, a drug that reverses opioid overdoses, on board aircraft after a passenger reportedly suffered a fatal overdose on a July 13 flight from Boston to Los Angeles. “I can’t speak to details of the event specifically due to passenger privacy rules,” a spokesperson told Fox News. “That said, Delta earlier this year made the decision to improve our onboard emergency medical kits by adding Narcan. Garuda Indonesia Bans Passengers From Snapping In-Flight Pics, Before Reversing Decision

Garuda Indonesia came in for criticism for announcing it would ban passengers from taking photos on board after a vlogger posted a photo online showing a handwritten food and beverage menu he was handed in business class. The vlogger, Rius Vernandes, was also reported to police after his online post led to Garuda being mocked on social media. The airline announced the ban in an internal memo circulated on July 14, but backtracked on the decision by Tuesday. Ikhsan Rosan, Garuda’s corporate secretary, said the policy had “not yet been finalized, and should not have been shared to the public.”

Norwegian Deploys Vision-Box Biometric Boarding at LAX

Norwegian has launched biometric boarding at Los Angeles International Airport. Using Vision-Box’s Orchestra identity management platform, passengers will be able to board aircraft without showing their passport or boarding pass. Passengers have their face captured by a high-resolution camera at the e-gate and are identified within a few seconds. The data is securely sent to the CBP Traveler Verification Service, which matches the stored digital facial token gathered at the initial immigration process for non-US travelers arriving in the country.
