Interactive Mobility Changes Its Name to Moment

Interactive Mobility has changed its name to Moment. The French company said the name change is intended to support development of its brand internationally. “We have decided it’s time to move towards a new identity that better reflects our mission of making every moment of the passenger experience more simple, pleasant and connected,” said Tanguy Morel, Moment’s co-founder and CEO. “Moment reflects the agility, constant innovation and dynamism that is needed to thrive in a market with high potential.”

Lufthansa Systems to Showcase In-Flight Gaming at APEX EXPO

Lufthansa Systems announced it will showcase a new in-flight gaming component for its BoardConnect platform at APEX EXPO in Los Angeles. The company partnered with gaming provider Gladi8tor to integrate fantasy card game Galaxy Duel into the platform. Hi Fly on Course for Fleet-Wide Plastic-Free Flights

Portuguese airline Hi Fly is on course to become completely single-use plastic free across its fleet by the end of this year. As part of its sustainability mission, the airline is working with a number of unidentified startups that are developing products to replace single-use plastic items used in flight. Hi Fly became the first airline to operate a flight without single-use plastics on board in December 2018.

Japan Airlines to Introduce New Long-Haul Business-Class Amenity Kits

Japan Airlines plans to launch new amenity kits for its long-haul business-class passengers, in addition to updated fall menus on international flights. JAL collaborated with Maison Kitsuné for kits on flights departing Japan, marking the first time the French brand has created an amenity kit for the airline industry. On flights to Japan, JAL collaborated with BEAMS, a Japanese lifestyle brand. Both kits will include a toothbrush, earplugs, an eye mask, tissues, a moisturizing face mask and Maison Kitsuné lip balm.

United Removes Expiration Dates on Frequent Flyer Miles

United Airlines has removed the expiration date on frequent flyer miles accrued by travelers, effective immediately. The change means members of United’s MileagePlus program will no longer lose their miles after 18 months of no activity on their account. “We want to demonstrate to our members that we are committing to them for the long haul, and giving customers a lifetime to use miles is an exceptionally meaningful benefit,” said Luc Bondar, United's vice-president of Loyalty and president of MileagePlus.

Virgin Australia Introduces Nervous Flyers Program

Virgin Australia has launched a program for nervous flyers across their journeys and during their flight. The Nervous Flyers program, which is the first of its kind in Australia, will allow customers with a self-declared phobia of flying to receive support and encouragement, including information on each stage of a flight and access to meditation activities on the in-flight entertainment system.
