[PHOTOS] Air Seychelles Unveils A320neo Interiors

Air Seychelles’ A320neo cabin, designed by Tokyo-based LIFT Strategic Design, is meant to evoke the feeling of a high-end holiday resort. “Given that the airline is oriented toward inbound tourism, being able to leverage the cabin as a tool in marketing communications is supremely important. Therefore, much consideration was given … to creating designs that will stand out on social media,” said Daniel Baron, LIFT Strategic Design’s managing director. The airline took delivery of its first A320neo on August 2.

BuyDRM Releases Multi-DRM License Delivery for IFE Content

BuyDRM, a provider of digital rights management (DRM) services, has released Linux support for its MultiKey Server, a multi-DRM software platform that can be deployed in remote or limited-connectivity environments, such as aircraft cabins, to deliver premium video content. “The move to support Linux with MultiKey Server was primarily born out of the need for solutions for in-flight entertainment and hospitality deployments,” said Andrew Popov, BuyDRM CTO. “In environments where connectivity is non-existent or intermittent … [t]he MultiKey Server fills the need to securely distribute and manage digital rights from your own network.”

Air Canada Ordered to Pay French-Speaking Couple Over Language Law Violations

Air Canada has been ordered to pay $15,800 by Canada’s Federal Court to a couple living in Ottawa for violations of the Official Languages Act. The couple complained that certain emergency exit door signs had signage that was either only in English, or displayed English words that were in a larger font than French ones, and that seatbelts were engraved with the word “lift” and no French-language equivalent. They also alleged that a French-language boarding announcement on one flight was less detailed than the English-language one. The airline argued the couple interpreted Canada’s Official Languages Act too strictly, but Federal Court Justice Martine St-Louis disagreed, saying “language rights are protected” and “signage must be of equal quality.”
