Boeing 737 MAX aircraft may not be cleared to fly before the holiday travel season, after regulator complaints during a Boeing briefing in August resulted in the company having to resubmit documents describing proposed software changes to the FAA. American Airlines and United have extended 737 MAX flight cancellations through December 3 and 19, respectively, while Southwest and Air Canada will not schedule any 737 MAX flights until next year. “Our best current estimate continues to be a return to service of the MAX that begins early in the fourth quarter [of this year],” said a Boeing spokesperson.
