Privilege Style Selects Inflight Dublin’s Everhub Wireless IFE

Privilege Style selected Inflight Dublin’s Everhub as its new wireless in-flight entertainment system. The Spanish charter airline and the IFE provider signed a five-year deal, which includes DRM-protected early window content that passengers can stream to their mobile devices. “Our Everhub wireless solution will be fully customized to Privilege Style’s brand guidelines and we look forward to working in partnership to implement the solution and make it a success,” said John White, Inflight Dublin’s CEO.

FAA to Test If US Airline Seats Are Too Small for Safe Evacuation

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will perform evacuation tests to establish how fast passengers can evacuate an aircraft with tightly packed seats. The tests will take place over 12 days in November and will involve 720 people to determine whether the aircraft can be evacuated within the 90-second limit required by law. “Americans are getting bigger and seat size is important, but it has to be looked at in the context of safety,” said Dan Elwell, the FAA’s deputy administrator.

Baggage Nanny Launches at San Diego International Airport

Luggage pickup, storage and delivery service Baggage Nanny is currently available in Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport. The company uses numbered security tags and tamper-proof seals to store bags in a safe and secure location, charging a flat rate of $20 per bag. “Eighty-three percent of travelers we interviewed … stated that dealing with their luggage while waiting for their lodging to be ready is the most stressful part of their travel experience,” Crystal Browning, Baggage Nanny’s founder and CEO, told APEX Media.

[VIDEO] Istanbul New Airport Deploys Customer Service Robots

Istanbul New Airport has deployed four customer service robots inside its terminal. The robots are able to scan travelers’ tickets and provide information on the status of a flight, directions inside the airport and information about other flights in Turkish and English. The robots are able to maneuver on wheels and can perform expressions through their arms and on-screen faces.

Causeway Aero’s EASA Part 21G accreditation means the Northern Ireland-based aircraft interiors company has internationally recognized approval to manufacture parts and appliances that can be installed in an aircraft. “This accreditation means that our Seats and Interiors’ Division, formed to meet the growing demand of the industry, can get on with the work at hand and deliver for our customers,” said Michael Rice, CEO of Causeway Aero.

ANA to Launch Fast-Track Immigration Lane for First-Class Passengers

All Nippon Airways will offer fast-track immigration processing for its first-class passengers arriving at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. The airline’s dedicated immigration lane will be open to travelers of all nationalities and is aimed at speeding up immigration processing. Hideki Kunugi, ANA’s executive vice-president, said the service “eliminates long distance walks and prevents passengers from having to wait in long lines immediately after they arrive in Hawaii.”

Aircalin Debuts Eco-Friendly Amenity Kit

Aircalin unveiled a new eco-friendly amenity kit developed in partnership with Anaïk, which makes bespoke kits for luxury brands and airlines. The Aircalin kit comprises a foldable amenity bag made from recycled cotton fabric, which contains tube socks, eyeshades, earplugs in a paper box, a refreshing towel and a dental kit with a toothbrush made from biodegradable material.
