Delta Debuts Bistro-Style International Economy-Cabin Service

Delta Air Lines has launched an international main cabin experience that features a welcome cocktail, hot-towel service and bistro-style dining. The ideas largely came from a design team of 20 flight attendants who have been testing and refining the experience to get it just right. Details include peach nectar in the Bellini, a nod to the airline’s Georgia roots, and an “anytime” snack basket with a rotating selection of sweet and savory snacks. “It’s important for us to invest in all of our customers, no matter where they sit on the plane,” said Perry Cantarutti, senior vice-president of Alliances, Delta Air Lines, who also sits on the APEX Board of Directors.

The LCC will start by flying two Airbus A321 aircraft with service to destinations across Europe, but plans to expand to North American destinations next spring, when its fleet is expected to grow to six.

During congressional hearings last week, the Senate Commerce Committee questioned Muilenburg about his compensation of $23.4 million, including a $13.1 million incentive bonus, last year, despite the crash of a 737 MAX in Indonesia in October 2018. “From the vantage point of our board, Dennis has done everything right,” Boeing chairman Dave Calhoun told CNBC.

Delta to Restore Same-Sex Love Scenes in Booksmart and Rocketman

Delta Air Lines will now air versions of Booksmart and Rocketman containing previously omitted scenes involving LGBTQ+ love and sexuality, after the airline faced backlash on social media. According to airline spokesperson Emma Kate Protis, the airline is putting new measures in place to ensure similar exclusions are not repeated. “Studios often provide videos in two forms: a theatrical, original version and an edited version,” she said. “We selected the edited version and now realize content well within our guidelines was unnecessarily excluded from both films. We are working to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
