Frontier Airlines Announces New Unlimited Summer Flight Pass

Frontier Airlines has announced an unlimited summer flight pass that costs $399. The all-you-can-fly plan allows customers to book an unlimited number of flights from May 2 to September 30. Although, there are a few catches. For instance, you shouldn’t bank on planning your flights ahead of time, you’ll need to book domestic flights the day before departure and international flights just 10 days before, and there are a few blackout periods each month when flights will not be eligible for the pass. All pass holders have to be US residents.

Lufthansa Ups The Sustainability Ante With Major SAF Purchase

Lufthansa has upped the sustainability ante this week through a major deal with VARO Energy for large amounts of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), that it aims to receive as early as 2026. The German carrier will help the supplier in the market ramp-up and use of SAF, with there expected to be 260,000 tons of fuel produced by VARO annually. At the moment, Lufthansa uses a 50% blend of SAF, which consists of biogenic residual materials such as cooking oil and kerosene. The Lufthansa Group aims to achieve a neutral CO₂ balance by 2050.

Amsterdam Schiphol Passengers Could Be Charged $3 Suitcase Fee

An ongoing shortage of baggage handlers threatens Amsterdam Schiphol's removal of the passenger cap. Handling companies believe they need to offer higher salaries. Therefore, a suitcase charge in the range of €2 ($2.16) to €3 ($3.23) might be applied to passengers transiting through Schiphol. The fare would make it possible for airlines to increase their payments to handlers, thus enabling them to improve salaries. Higher salaries may attract more workforce, which is what the airport needs to avoid disruptions like last summer in the upcoming holiday season.

British Airways Gatwick Club Lounge Elevates Traditional Product

London Gatwick has always played second fiddle to Heathrow, with premium carriers like Virgin Atlantic and British Airways (BA) basing only a limited fleet. Despite being geared towards a leisure market, BA does maintain a large lounge complex in the South Terminal with almost all the trappings of its Heathrow equivalents. BA has a dedicated check in space located in a corner of the South Terminal. The Club Lounge aligns with BA’s Club Europe and Club World business class products. The lounge offers a premium self-service bar at all times, including wines, Prosecco, and top-quality spirits like Ciroc Vodka. BA also offers a “First” lounge, which caters to the most loyal frequent fliers.
