SAS has introduced a unique flight experience called "Destination Unknown" for EuroBonus members, with over 1,000 registrations within minutes of opening. On April 5, participants will gather at Copenhagen Airport for an undisclosed adventure, not knowing their destination until arrival. The mystery trip, scheduled for April 5-8, 2024, offers EuroBonus members an exciting journey, adding an element of surprise and exploration to their travel experience. All seats on the flight are reserved for SAS EuroBonus members and can only be purchased using EuroBonus points.

Valour Explores How The Cloud Will Disrupt IFE Content Delivery

"The Future of In-Flight Entertainment Content" report by Valour Consultancy predicts a shift towards cloud-based content delivery in the in-flight entertainment (IFE) industry will alter traditional relationships among content service providers, content companies and airlines. Author Summer Staninski says the move will facilitate faster and direct content licensing, leading to subscription-based IFE models with regularly updated content. This approach could increase revenue for studios and airlines by enabling quicker content onboarding and the ability to advertize ancillaries using content-related promotions.

Washington Dulles Becomes First Airport To Offer Global Entry Enrollment On Departure

Washington Dulles International Airport has become the first in the USA to offer Global Entry Enrollment on Departure, allowing conditionally approved applicants to complete their interviews before departing on international flights from February 12. This new option supplements existing methods, such as scheduling an interview at an Enrollment Center or completing Enrollment on Arrival at certain airports. Interviews are conducted daily between 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm at gate B41, requiring applicants to bring necessary documents and arrive early to ensure they don't miss their flights.

Hawaiian Airlines Opens New Private Lounge In Honolulu

Hawaiian Airlines introduces a new Premium Airport Service at Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, offering travelers, regardless of their ticket class or loyalty status, the option to enjoy expedited services and exclusive lounge access for a fee. The service includes priority baggage handling, terminal escorts, private chauffeur services, and access to the newly opened Apartment 1929 lounge in Terminal 1, starting at $500 for two people. daa Unveils 20-Point Sustainability Plan

Airport operator daa has launched 20 environmental sustainability initiatives at Dublin and Cork Airports, aiming for net zero emissions by 2050. With over €400m investment, these initiatives position Dublin Airport as one of Europe's most environmentally friendly. Efforts include reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions, collaborating to diminish Scope 3 emissions, converting airside vehicles to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil for a 90% carbon reduction, exploring onsite solar power, electrifying ground fleets, and participating in taskforces to promote sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and hydrogen.

Korean Air-Asiana Airlines Merger Gains European Commission Approval

The European Commission has conditionally approved Korean Air's merger with Asiana Airlines, addressing competition concerns on passenger and cargo services between South Korea and the European Economic Area (EEA), particularly for routes to Barcelona, Paris, Frankfurt, and Rome. To maintain market competitiveness, Korean Air committed to divesting Asiana's cargo freighter business and supporting T'Way airline's operation on the four overlapping routes by providing slots, traffic rights, and aircraft access. Korean Air will proceed with the merger once T’Way commences services from Seoul to the specified European cities.
