Lufthansa Unveils New First Class Suite Plus

Lufthansa is expanding its premium First Class offering with the Suite Plus. It’s a separate double cabin with ceiling-high walls and an entirely closable door, large table and two wide seats that can be combined into a comfortable double bed if required. The suites feature one-meter-wide seats that can be warmed or cooled. The guests can also connect their own mobile device to the entertainment system. The crew serves the meal from a gourmet menu at a time requested by the guests, that can be enjoyed in the private suites.

FAA Awards Nearly $1 Billion To 99 Airports

The Biden-Harris administration announced nearly $1 billion in bipartisan infrastructure law that will fund airports across the US. The funding's goal is to help airports create larger security checkpoints, more reliable and faster baggage systems, better roadways, and multi-modal connections. The funds are planned to go to large, medium, and small regions in the United States, going to 99 airports in 47 states and two territories.These grants are in addition to the $1 billion that was granted for terminal improvements at 85 airports.

How Emirates Has Led The Way In Making IFE More Accessible

Emirates has long been a leader in making in-flight entertainment experience more inclusive and accessible to a broader public. Emirates was the first to introduce closed captioning and subtitling options, with the ability to embed captions in up to 12 languages. Closed captions include references to sound effects used in the movie, in addition to the actors’ dialogues. Emirates was also the​​ first airline to introduce Audio Description for movies for customers with visual difficulties on its inflight entertainment system in 2014.

Delta Sky Club Opens Only Airline Lounge In Revamped Kansas City Airport

The Delta Sky Club opened its Kansas City International Airport lounge on Tuesday. It is the only carrier lounge at the recently transformed airport. The 11,200-square-foot Delta Sky Club will hold nearly 200 guests, with seating options to accommodate travelers looking to work, socialize or simply relax pre-flight. The lounge has two all-weather Sky Decks with views of the airfield. Customers can enjoy a premium bar, a full buffet, a curated art program featuring regional artists and bathrooms stocked with premium Grown Alchemist products.

Vueling Strengthens Sustainable Strategy With Wheeltug Partnership

Vueling recently announced their new collaboration with WheelTug the company that created the WheelTug system, enabling aircraft to taxi without utilizing their engines. Toronto Pearson Airport To Implement Liberty Defense Security Portal

Greater Toronto Airports Authority has agreed to acquire Liberty Defense’s HEXWAVE walkthrough weapons and threat detection technology for use at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada. HEXWAVE uses millimeter-wave, advanced 3D imaging and AI to detect all types of concealed metallic and non-metallic weapons and other prohibited items – without travelers having to divest common items. The system is designed to enable rapid, automated screening using a high throughput, contactless, walkthrough portal.

Gilat Aims To Differentiate With Multi-Orbit Dual-Beam Aero ESA

Gilat Satellite Networks has been pursuing a game-changing technology – the ability to support dual-beam operation at a price point palatable to operators, in addition to NGSO-specific aero Electronically Steerable Antennas kit. Gilat is already deeply embedded in the multi-orbit realm with its ground segment equipment.
