New Malaysia Airlines Business Class Seats For Airbus A330 & A350

Malaysia Airlines has 20 Airbus A330-900 neos on order to refresh its long-haul fleet, with the first delivery expected in Q3 2024. The airline plans to have four of these planes in its fleet by the end of 2024, a slight delay from the initial timeline. The A330-900 neos will feature 297 seats, including 28 business class seats with Collins Aerospace Elevation reverse herringbone seats with doors, and 269 economy class seats. Malaysia Airlines also plans to refresh its six Airbus A350-900s with the same business class product.

New United Feature Notifies You If Your Preferred Seat Becomes Available

United Airlines is introducing a new feature on its mobile app that allows travelers to sign up for seat notifications if their preferred seat is not available at the time of booking. Starting March 22, users can request their desired seat, including window, aisle, exit row, or bulkhead seats, while browsing the seat map. If the seat becomes available up to 12 hours before departure, the app will reassign the seat and notify the user. This feature enhances United's app, which is considered one of the best in the industry.

Carlisle Companies Selling CIT To Amphenol Corporation

Carlisle Companies has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) unit to Amphenol Corporation for $2 billion. The sale aligns with Carlisle's Vision 2030 strategy to become a premier pure-play building products company. CIT's products, including seat cabling, fiber optic assemblies, and cabin Wi-Fi components, are highly complementary to Amphenol's existing portfolio. CIT has strong content placement on Airbus and Boeing aircraft and is involved in retrofit work as a key integrator of inflight entertainment and connectivity systems.

American Airlines To Enable Wi-Fi Redemption For AAdvantage Members

American Airlines is enhancing its onboard Wi-Fi service by allowing AAdvantage® members to spend miles on Wi-Fi, offering gate-to-gate connectivity on most mainline aircraft, and introducing a complimentary, ad-sponsored Wi-Fi option on domestic narrowbody aircraft equipped with Viasat. The airline is also redesigning its Wi-Fi portal to simplify access and improve the user experience. This summer, American Airlines will begin equipping nearly 500 dual-class regional aircraft with high-speed Wi-Fi through a project with Intelsat, aiming to provide seamless connectivity across more flights.

Changi Airport Expands ChangiVerse Interactive Digital Experience

Singapore Changi Airport has expanded its virtual reality airport experience, ChangiVerse, on Roblox to include the new Terminal 2 and the Gardentopia game. Players can accumulate experience points and collect tokens by playing various games, unlocking access to special areas and items. Gardentopia, modeled after Changi's Dreamscape, features a garden with different 'Garden Bosses' that players can interact with and collect exclusive user-generated content. Roblox players in Singapore can participate in a contest to win Changi Rewards points and Roblox gift cards by completing certain tasks within the game.

San Diego Airport Showcases Cross-Border Art For San Diego-Tijuana Design Capital 2024

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is hosting Espacios & Lines, a temporary art exhibition celebrating the rich culture of the binational San Diego-Tijuana region, in conjunction with their joint recognition as the World Design Capital 2024. The exhibition features 16 local artists, with half working across borders and five residing in Baja California. Their artworks explore themes such as shared symbolism, unique perspectives, and design as a tool for reconstruction. The exhibition will be displayed in both pre- and post-security areas throughout Terminal 2, showcasing the region's diversity and innovative approach to design.
