AAK Grants FlyArystan its Own AOC

FlyArystan, the low-cost subsidiary of Air Astana, was granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) on April 1. Since its inception in 2019, FlyArystan has operated under Air Astana’s AOC, but the strategic move to acquire its own certificate will now allow the carrier to receive its own IATA code, thereby enabling it to expand distribution globally and to partner with other airlines. Peter Foster, Air Astana Group’s CEO, said the AOC “provides the regulatory framework for FlyArystan to continue to grow while pursuing opportunities for international expansion.”
