Lufthansa Bids for 20% Stake in ITA Airways

On Monday, Lufthansa and partner Mediterranean Shipping Group (MSC) made an offer to acquire a majority stake in ITA Airways, which would see Lufthansa acquire a 20 percent stake in the carrier and MSC acquire a 60 percent stake. KLM Faces Greenwashing Lawsuit in Industry First

KLM is being brought to court over accusations its advertising is misleading and amounts to greenwashing, in the first major legal challenge of its kind in the airline industry. Environmental lawyers Client Earth argue the airline's Fly Responsibly campaign and “CO2ZERO” carbon offsetting scheme give a false impression of the sustainability of its flights and that the carrier's claim to be on track to reduce its emissions to net-zero by 2050, is misleading. They claim this violates European consumer law. Unless KLM agrees to cease the campaigns, a Dutch court will begin examining the case.
