Airbus Heads Towards 500 Jet Order From IndiGo

Airbus is closing towards a potentially record deal to sell 500 narrow-body A320-family jets to India’s largest carrier IndiGo, industry sources said on Sunday. The European planemaker has emerged as front-runner for an order eclipsing Air India’s historic provisional purchase of 470 jets in February. Such a deal would be worth about $50 billion at the most recently published Airbus list prices, but would typically be worth less than half this after widespread airline industry discounts for bulk deals, according to aircraft analysts.

Qantas To Introduce US-Style Boarding Groups On Domestic Flights

Qantas will begin boarding domestic flights in up to five groups as the airline seeks to streamline the current boarding process, to make the start of the journey smoother for passengers and help more flights get away on time. Qantas’ current boarding process for domestic flights involves just two lines – a priority boarding line for business class passengers and top-tier frequent flyers, and a second line for everybody else. Most North American and many European airlines already pre-sort passengers into groups based on their frequent flyer status or where they are seated.

And here’s the new @recaro_as PL3810, a Premium Economy/First Class seat, 10% lighter than the previous version. I quite like the small but useful charging cubby by the USB port. 3 airline customers lined up for wide body deployments already. #PaxEx
