Copa Celebrates 75th Anniversary With Retro 737 Livery

Copa Airlines, a member of the global network of Star Alliance airlines, celebrates its 75th anniversary by showcasing a Boeing 737-800 NG model aircraft livery. This livery reminisces the company’s image in the 1990s, a period when the company began to consolidate its operations in the ‘Hub of the Americas’ by expanding its route network with the goal of connecting all the Americas and highlighting the wonders of Panama. The Boeing 737-800 NG was painted at the Copa Airlines Maintenance Center, located at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.

Lufthansa To Hire Nearly 20,000 New Employees By End Of 2023

Lufthansa is planning to hire nearly 20,000 new employees by the end of 2023 as the aviation industry recovers from the pandemic. During the pandemic, which paralysed air traffic worldwide, the flagship carrier shrank to around 100,000 employees from just under 140,000, causing operational problems this summer in some locations. A Lufthansa spokesperson added that 12,000 of the positions would be completely new while roughly 8,000 would be to replace employees who were leaving the company.

SmartSky Offers Details On Nationwide Network Deployment

SmartSky has released a map showing the coverage footprint in response to several requests for a coverage map to illustrate the availability of SmartSky’s inflight connectivity and the distinctive way in which it is delivered. While not stated explicitly by SmartSky, releasing the map almost certainly comes in response to skepticism expressed by Gogo CEO Oakleigh Thorne that the network was less than advertised. The map suggests roughly 320 locations for the company, with just under 300 of them complete. SmartSky also explicitly notes that the beams range up to 180 miles from the tower.

It is a story filled with much commitment and achievement, but above all with much effort from our people to overcome all the challenges we have encountered along the way and proudly carry the Panamanian flag through the skies of the Americas for 75 years"
