US to Lift International Travel Ban for Vaccinated Visitors

From early November, the US will reopen its borders to fully vaccinated international travelers from some countries. As well as proof of vaccination, visitors will need to show negative test results taken within three days of departure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is set to release a list of accepted vaccinations and a contact tracing order requiring airlines to collect phone numbers and email addresses of US-bound travelers. The new travel policy also requires unvaccinated US travelers to show proof of a negative test taken within one day of departure and arrival.

Air France Installs Safran Cabin’s ECOS Overhead Bins

Air France, which is the launch customer for Safran Cabin’s Efficient Cabin Open Space (ECOS) overhead bins, has taken delivery of the first of 24 Airbus A320 aircraft to be retrofitted with the product. It returned to service in July this year. Safran said its ECOS shelf bins offer up to 60% more storage capacity versus other offerings, as well as a lower shelf height for ease of loading and visibility. The company believes use of the bins will reduce turnaround times. Air France's cabin modification also included the installation of Safran Cabin’s movable class dividers.

Caeli Nova's Cordillera Solution Soon to be Applicable to Airbus Jets

Caeli Nova has signed a co-development partnership agreement with Airbus that will see both companies collaborate on Caeli Nova’s passenger emergency oxygen system, Cordillera, to enable the application of the technology to Airbus aircraft. Cordillera allows aircraft to safely divert at a higher altitude during an emergency decompression event, which means airlines can operate the most direct air routes, that are often over high terrain, and thereby reduce flight times, fuel usage and carbon emissions.
