How COVID-19 Is Influencing Food Trends on the Ground and in the Air

LSG Group, which issued its annual report on food trends for 2020 back in January, had its experts go back and use new market and consumer data to look at those trends through a COVID-19 lens. Among the findings were that the “digital food” trend, which includes new strategies for food delivery in airports, and mindfulness have become more important. “There’s a growing interest in products that are rich in vitamins, nutrients and other products to boost the immune systems,” noted a spokesperson for LSG.

Berlin’s Brandenburg a Go for Halloween

Germany’s newest airport is hoping for more treats than tricks as it plans to finally open tomorrow. The airport is years behind schedule and billions over budget, owing to design changes and massive errors in the initial work. As it opens, traffic will consolidate from Tegel, the downtown airport that has been in operation since the 1940s. The initial Brandenburg arrivals will be flown by Lufthansa and easyJet, while Air France will take the honor of last Tegel departure next week as operations wind down there.
