CEO Keynote: Turkish Weathered COVID-19 By Protecting its People

During the APEX/IFSA EXPO 2021 Thought Leadership Conference, Turkish Airlines’ chairman and CEO Ilker Aycı attributed its return to profit in the first quarter of this year to putting the carrier’s reputation above facts and figures throughout the pandemic. To Aycı this meant looking after his workforce – Turkish Airlines did not make any layoffs during COVID-19. In the future, he said the airline will look to accommodate the growing premium economy segment and to refresh its business-class seating without compromising on space for the sake of extra privacy.
