ZRH is First Airport to Activate Google Maps Live View

As the result of a 2018 partnership between Zurich Airport (ZRH) and Google Switzerland aimed at improving intuitive navigation from curb to gate, ZRH has become the first airport in the world to activate the Live View feature in Google Maps. It allows passengers to navigate to destinations including escalators, gates, check-in desks and restaurants using augmented reality (AR). Google Maps Live View compares the images shown via a user’s camera view with previous recordings made at the airport to understand their orientation. It then shows the correct route by overlaying arrows and directions on top of the camera view.
