For the first time since June 2022, AVIC Cabin Systems (UK) Limited (ACS UK) has reopened its order book and is offering a full range of products from social spaces and galleys to front row monuments, feature panels and stowages.
Just over three years ago, ACS UK made a strategic decision to reduce its offerings to new business in order to focus upon the delivery of the programs acquired from AIM Altitude Ltd.
ACS UK CEO Nigel McSorley said, “We have been quietly but busily working in the background to safeguard future product offerings, and several key programs are already underway. Our ethos and focus on customer satisfaction and the delivery of high-quality equipment using highly skilled people continues. We have seen exceptional on-time delivery performance of world-class products to Airbus and Boeing over the past few years. We are very proud of this achievement.
“Given the restructuring undertaken in 2023 and 2024 and the additional capacity created within the AVIC Group, we do not see any capacity ‘limits’ going forwards.”
“The advantage ACS UK has is that we are new but not new. We have the facilities and capacity of a new company, with the experience and expertise of an industry stalwart,” McSorley continued.
He said that at any one time, ACS UK can be working on over 20 live projects across its new engineering facility in Bournemouth, UK; its design base in New Zealand; and manufacturing bases in Cambridge UK and China. Indeed, McSorley confirmed the company has capacity to take on many more.

Furthermore, he stated that ACS UK strong supplier partnerships as well as additional supply capacity and support from within the AVIC Group of companies mean the company is confident it will always be able to overcome any potential supply chain concerns.
“Given the restructuring undertaken in 2023 and 2024 and the additional capacity created within the AVIC Group, we do not see any capacity ‘limits’ going forwards. [With our] knowledge and experience within ACS UK, we are very aware of market requirements, [and] we continually monitor capacity and market demands on a rolling five-year forecast.”
“We have the facilities and capacity of a new company, with the experience and expertise of an industry stalwart.”
The company’s new projects will likely involve new products. McSorley told APEX Insights that since 2022, ACS UK has continued to design, develop and manufacture new and innovative solutions: “2025 has seen a lot of these new designs coming into manufacture and we have a high volume of New Product Introductions (NPIs) currently in process. We […] are looking forward to the continued growth of ACS UK.”
McSorley concluded that ACS UK is already in direct discussions with the OEMs and key target customers to ensure everyone knows the company is ‘open for business’.
