Air Canada’s Signature Class Will Offer Lie-Flat Seats on Transcontinental Flights

    APEX Insight: Air Canada will soon become the first North American carrier to offer lie-flat seats on flights between Canada and the US.

    Air Canada today unveiled its new business class, Air Canada Signature Class, which is available starting today on all Air Canada international flights, and beginning June 1 on select transcontinental flights within North America. The airline will become the first North American carrier to offer lie-flat seats on flights between the United States and Canada.

    Air Canada Signature Service will be available on select transcontinental and domestic routes operated using the airline’s wide-body aircraft, including Boeing 787s, 777s, 767s and Airbus A330s. This includes routes between Toronto and the cities of Los AngelesSan FranciscoVancouver, and between Vancouver and the cities of New YorkNewark and Montreal.

    Air Canada said its Signature Service customers will get priority services including access to airport concierge services, fast-track check-in and security clearance, priority baggage handling, preferential boarding and Maple Leaf Lounge access. Passengers connecting onward to international destinations at Toronto-Pearson International Airport will also be able to access the Air Canada Signature Suite lounge, which launched in December and includes an à la carte restaurant with a menu created by David Hawksworth, an acclaimed Vancouver-based chef.

    The Air Canada Signature Service will also include David Hawksworth-inspired lunch and dinner menu items for transcontinental and international passengers, in addition to an improved wine and spirits selection, a new cheese and dessert selection, and the option of espresso or cappuccino. On flights to Mumbai and New Delhi, Air Canada said it will offer a special South Asian menu by chef Vikram Vij.
