All3Media International is offering airlines access to a broad slate at this year’s APEX Content Market, ranging from premium drama and factual programming to lifestyle and entertainment (IFE) content.

All3Media International Global Inflight Sales Executive for UK & Ireland Emily Lawn explained, “All3Media International’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) strategy aligns with our wider international sales business. We offer premium content that can be curated to appeal to buyers around the world, but also to connect with a variety of different audiences and viewing contexts.”

Leading the company’s scripted slate in Dubai is Secret Service, a fast-paced, globe-trotting espionage thriller series starring Gemma Arterton. Filmed in five-parts, the show is directed by Oscar winner James Marsh (Man on Wire) and adapted from the novel by ITV News anchor Tom Bradby. It follows Kate (played by Arterton), a senior MI6 officer in a desperate race to uncover evidence that a high-ranking UK politician may be working as a Russian asset. The cast also includes Rafe Spall, Mark Stanley, Alex Kingston, Roger Allam, Amaka Okafur and Khalid Abdalla.

“Face-to-face meetings allow for more meaningful, in-depth discussions around content needs and long-term programming plans.”

Gone, a gripping psychological mystery from Hijack screenwriter George Kay will also be spotlighted at APEX Content Market. Across six episodes, the series follows respected headmaster, Michael Polly (played by David Morrissey) whose well-ordered life collapses when his wife disappears. Assigned to the case is Detective Annie Cassidy (Eve Myles), a sharp investigator who believes she is pushing closer to the truth of the case until she finds herself and Michael in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse.

Dubai will also see the arrival of Babies, written and directed by BAFTA winner Stefan Golaszewski (Marriage, Mum). The six-part drama stars Paapa Essiedu and Siobhán Cullen as a young couple navigating a delicate tightrope of love and loss in their desire to become parents.

From All3Media International’s unscripted slate comes the new documentary series Michael Jackson: The Trial from Wonderhood Studio alongside series 11 of Formula E: Driver

The cast of the most recent series of Celebrity Traitors UK

Numerous opportunities are available to license fan favourite The Traitors. Lawn explained, “The Traitors has proven itself to be a powerful brand. The Celebrity Traitors was the most-watched show in the UK on the BBC last year, and its BAFTA, Emmy and Asian Academy award-winning credentials underline its quality and global appeal.

“The Celebrity Traitors brought a new audience to the show, with those viewers continuing into the latest series. We have seen this momentum translate strongly to IFE, with nine airlines in Asia, EMEA and the Middle East acquiring this series,” she continued. “There is interest continuing to build as the UK civilian series has also enjoyed strong uptake from airline partners. Series 4 of the UK and the US version are both highly anticipated by buyers.

“The Traitors works particularly well in an IFE environment because it is immediately accessible and highly engaging. The rules are simple, the stakes are clear and each episode delivers strong narrative momentum. With all the tropes of a great drama series, and the strategic tension of a game of chess, it is hard not to become invested. Its blend of suspense, character-driven storytelling and natural cliff-hangers suits both short and long-haul viewing, making it ideal for time-poor audiences looking for compelling, easy-to-follow entertainment onboard.

“The Traitors works particularly well in an IFE environment because it is immediately accessible and highly engaging.”

“Crucially for airlines, the franchise offers exceptional breadth. With over 40 international versions available, including titles such as The Traitors India, airlines can programme a globally recognizable hit while tailoring content to specific routes, cultures and passenger demographics. This depth ensures there is something for every airline and every audience, reinforcing The Traitors as a true cultural phenomenon in the inflight space,” Lawn concluded.

She is also excited to highlight a number of true crime documentaries at APEX Content Market, from Lover, Liar, Predator, which exposes the dark realities of manipulation and control of women by men, to The Sycamore Gap Mystery, where the “victim” is a tree in a crime shocks a nation.

On why All3Media International attends APEX Content Market, Lawn said, “[It] is an important opportunity to nurture existing relationships and start new conversations with buyers. Face-to-face meetings allow for more meaningful, in-depth discussions around content needs and long-term programming plans, which can be harder to achieve in the day-to-day flow of the market which is largely done online.

“With the IFE landscape moving at pace and buyers under constant pressure to assess new content, APEX offers a valuable moment to simplify that process, showcase our slate clearly and help buyers plan with confidence.”
