The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) announced today that APEX EXPO 2016 will colocate with the Aircraft Interiors Expo Asia (AIX Asia) at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore Oct 24-27, 2016. The partnership means next year’s four-day event is set to be the largest airline passenger experience tradeshow in Asia.

The news follows last month’s announcement that APEX and Future Travel Experience (FTE) will colocate in Singapore for EXPO 2016.

    Strength in Numbers

For airlines and airline vendors alike, attending multiple events across the globe each year can be an expensive undertaking, but the cooperative effort to colocate all three events maximizes the value for attendees at APEX EXPO, AIX Asia and FTE Asia Expo. The passenger experience industry is in no short supply of innovative ideas and hosting an all-in-one event is an opportunity to bring the diverse sides of each organization under one roof.

“Both APEX and Reed Exhibitions have a history of incredibly successful events, so this collaboration will be a win-win for our industry as a whole. We are enthused that APEX will gain AIX Asia exhibitors and many more as APEX members in our collaborative efforts to advance passenger experience,” says Joe Leader, APEX CEO.

Today’s announcement of the colocation of AIX Asia means EXPO attendees will be able to glimpse all things aircraft interior design-related, including soft furnishings, textiles, seating products and cabin engineering management systems. In addition to APEX EXPO’s unrivalled showcase of the latest in in-flight entertainment and connectivity, colocation with FTE Asia Expo will provide attendees with extensive exposure to the “on-the-ground” passenger experience industry. Attendance for the events is anticipated to exceed well over 3,000 registrants.

    Spotlight on Singapore

Singapore is not only a multicultural melting pot and global center for international business, it’s rapidly becoming the premier aviation hub of the Asia-Pacific region. Changi Airport and Singapore Airlines are both widely-regarded as leaders in passenger experience, and the city is also home to several APEX members who are actively boosting air travel in the region.

The construction of the new Terminal 5 facility at Changi Airport will include the addition of a third runway, more taxiways and cargo facilities, investments which will future proof Singapore’s position as the center for air travel.
