APEX Investigates: Slush Helsinki 2017
Share
Technology is a major source of change, challenge and inspiration for the airline passenger experience industry. APEX Media director Maryann Simson attended forward-thinking tech conference Slush during Helsinki’s darkest days, in early December, to shine a light on startups that are gaining traction in the aviation world.
The event, described as Burning Man meets TED, attracted 17,500 attendees and over 2,000 startups, as well as APEX members Finnair, Google and Nokia. The theme of this year’s event was “A Call for Solvers” so it focused on social responsibility, but artificial intelligence, deep learning, robotics, biotech, virtual reality, augmented reality, mobility, media, the sharing economy and IoT were heavily represented.
We set out to investigate these trends and find out how they will affect the airline passenger experience, discussing topics ranging from bedbugs t0 artificial human senses along the way.
