BBC Studios Celebrates BBC UK centenary at APEX/IFSA Expo

Celebrating 100 years of stellar content both on the ground and in the air, BBC Studios gears up to take the APEX/IFSA Expo by storm

Whether you know them for their award-winning Planet franchise, fan-favorites like Dr. Who, Sherlock and the long-running Eastenders or their bevy of top tier children’s series, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has been showcasing the best of British content around the globe for 100 years.

Celebrating that milestone in high style, BBC Studios is gearing up to unveil a centenary-themed Expo booth this morning at the APEX/IFSA Expo in Long Beach.

“We are delighted to be celebrating the BBC’s Centenary with our airline partners attending this year’s APEX/IFSA Expo, many of which have brought BBC content to audiences as part of their IFE throughout the years,” BBC Studios’ Vice President, Out of Home, and longtime APEX board member, Zina Neophytou told APEX Media.

“Expo Delegates will have the chance to enjoy an interactive exhibit on our BBC Studios booth of props and costumes from some of our biggest titles, so I’d encourage all to come by and take a look!”

And though Neophytou was reluctant to “spoil the surprise” by revealing too much more, she added that this year’s booth is definitely not to be missed.

“BBC programs continue to set the highest bar on quality and creativity and visitors will also have the chance to learn about [our] upcoming slate of titles including the latest natural history landmark, Frozen Planet II, narrated by Sir David Attenborough,” said Neophytou.

Also on tap will be BBC Studios upcoming releases like the comedy-thriller Am I being Unreasonable? created by and starring BAFTA award-winning multi-hyphenate, Daisy May Cooper; an all-new season of Top Gear; Frida, a compelling portrait of Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo; and Bluey, the pre-school sensation that has taken parents and children around the world by storm.
