Air Astana hopes its occupation-themed kits will do a good job at keeping young passengers busy.
Keeping children preoccupied on flights can pose a challenge for some passengers, but Air Astana is tackling that issue head on. The airline, which is the flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has released a number of kits catering to kids that will keep children occupied while they fly.
Air Astana worked with Kaelis €” a provider of independent onboard products, services and solutions for airlines €” in developing the kits. “This work was a big storm of ideas and we are so proud of the result,” said Rocio Cordoba, marketing designer at Kaelis.
The kits provide children with fun and educational activities that include learning to create new recipes, discovering different parts of the world and fostering a love for animals. Each kit has a theme: Super Chef, Smashing Super Hero and Voluntary Vet (for children between the ages of 3 and 6) and Amazing Architect, Dangerous Detective and Extreme Explorer (for those aged 7 to 11).
“We think it’s important that kids learn during the hours in flight,” Cordoba said, adding that a kit with a different theme will be offered each month. “The best part is that kids can share [the] activities with other children or even with their parents, and use their imaginations; that’s so important.”
