Delta Air Lines has unveiled a major redesign of its Delta One experience, introducing new menus, premium beverages, amenities, and personalized onboard service following more than 14 months of development and testing, including 36 trial flights. The airline will begin rolling out the changes on transoceanic Delta One flights departing Los Angeles International Airport this fall before expanding them across its global network in early 2027. The overhaul forms part of Delta’s broader premium strategy, which includes investments in onboard dining, cabin design, passenger comfort, and airport services.

Redesigning Delta One Dining and Hospitality

To develop the new menus and beverages, Delta worked with chef Simon Hulstone and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, focusing on improving familiar dishes with premium ingredients and presentation. Hulstone, who has led a restaurant with a 20-year Michelin-star history, helped refine the recipes, preparation methods, and service. Chefs Norio Ueno and Jereme Leung contributed meals inspired by different international markets.

Passengers will have more flexibility when choosing their meals, with expanded preselection options that include gluten-free dishes, lighter meals, and more prearrival choices. The airline has extended its entrée preselection deadline to 18 hours before departure, giving travelers six additional hours to make their selections. According to Delta, this makes it the only U.S. carrier to offer meal preorders this close to departure.

On overnight flights, passengers who want to sleep longer can skip the traditional morning meal and receive coffee and a croissant before landing. This gives travelers the choice between a full dining experience and additional rest during the flight.

Among the new menu items is a Delta One Wagyu beef burger with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and cornichons on a toasted brioche bun. Other options include roasted sea bass with tomato tarragon sauce, braised lamb with red wine demi-glace, beef short rib with potato gratin, and seasonal mushroom risotto. Passengers can choose macaroni and cheddar cheese with garlic breadcrumbs or a chicken Caesar salad.

Beginning in February 2027, the airline plans to introduce grilled salmon with ginger soy sauce, asparagus, eggplant, and mushrooms on Delta One flights from the United States to Tokyo Haneda Airport. Midflight meal options will expand to include a chicken salad croissant, hummus, and crudités.

Each year, Delta produces approximately eight million Delta One meals across 50 international kitchens. The new culinary program includes more than 700 ingredients, highlighting the scale of the airline’s international catering operation.

For dessert, passengers can choose an ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce, Amarena cherries, pecan praline crumble, and a doughnut. Another option includes a dairy-free sorbet with an optional Champagne Taittinger float. The airline has expanded its fruit and cheese selections with products from Cowgirl Creamery and Cypress Grove, served with Rustic Bakery crackers.

The dining changes extend to redesigned tableware intended to improve meal presentation and service. Featuring Delta’s signature widget logo, the collection includes custom pieces such as a pepper grinder and individual sauce containers. The airline developed more than 60 new pieces through research, prototypes, and onboard testing.

“Luxury is about having the experience designed around you,” said Delta Senior Vice President of Brand Experience Kristen Manion Taylor. “These enhancements offer greater flexibility, ensuring every Delta One customer can enjoy the journey in the way that suits them best.”

Onboard service will include a new “sip and settle” experience with a hot towel, warm nuts, and the passenger’s preferred beverage. Flight attendants will offer freshly cracked pepper during the first course and serve sauces separately so passengers can customize their meals.

More than 200 Delta flight attendants and team members helped develop the new experience, with more than 200 feedback submissions from employees and customers across four phases of testing. Their feedback influenced changes to meal presentation, tableware, and onboard service procedures.

Expanding Delta One’s Premium Products and Services

The updated beverage program features new wines, spirits, sake, cocktails, and nonalcoholic options. Working with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and SkyMiles members, the airline evaluated more than 1,600 wines before selecting 13 from 11 wineries for service between October 2026 and September 2027.

The selection includes Napa Valley wines such as Silver Oak, international wines, and an expanded partnership with Champagne Taittinger, which now includes domestic Delta One service. To provide greater consistency for passengers and flight attendants, Delta will reduce its annual wine rotations from four to two.

Beginning December 1, Delta One passengers will have access to Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon. According to the airline, the partnership will make it the first and only carrier to serve the Kentucky bourbon.

Flights to and from Tokyo Haneda will feature Dassai 45 sake beginning November 3. Produced in Iwakuni, Japan, the sake uses Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 45% of its original size and will complement the airline’s Japanese-inspired meals.

The new beverage program includes alcoholic and nonalcoholic versions of the Hugo Spritz and Paloma cocktails. These drinks will arrive on international routes in March 2027, followed by domestic routes in April 2027.

Beyond dining, passengers will receive new Missoni amenity kits beginning November 3. The Winter Elsewhere collection features a nature-inspired design and a wrist strap passengers can use after their flights. Each kit includes Grown Alchemist skincare products, a Marvis dental kit, and Missoni-branded comfort items.

A new Missoni Mini pillow will replace the airline’s current cuddle pillow, with plans to expand the product across all transoceanic Delta One routes. The pillow will complement the existing mattress pads, slippers, and eye masks.

Through its renewed partnership with Bombas, Delta will offer limited-edition socks on select domestic and international Delta One flights departing the United States. The socks feature cushioning, arch support, and Delta-inspired branding.

The onboard changes form part of the airline’s continued investment in its premium cabins, lounges, and technology. Delta plans to introduce its next-generation Delta One suite on the Airbus A350-1000 in early 2027 while continuing to refurbish its Airbus A330 cabins.

More than 50 suppliers across 15 countries have contributed parts and materials for the new Delta One suite, which has required over 35,000 engineering hours. The airline is investing in next-generation seatback entertainment screens and digital features to help passengers find content and personalize their experience.

On the ground, Delta continues expanding its Delta One Lounges and premium airport services. By 2028, the airline plans to increase its fleet of hybrid Porsche vehicles used for airport transfers from 40 to 70 across 15 airports and hubs. Porsche transfers are available to Delta One customers who book VIP Select.

The airline’s broader premium investments include Delta Sync Wi-Fi, with nearly 1,300 aircraft equipped as of the announcement, representing more than 95% of its fleet. These investments support Delta’s efforts to improve the passenger experience both on the ground and in the air.

“No airline has invested more intentionally in redefining premium travel,” said Delta Chief Marketing and Product Officer Ranjan Goswami. “From connectivity and personalized entertainment to dedicated security, Porsche tarmac transfers, next-generation aircraft and Delta One dining, every investment is part of a deliberate strategy to deliver the industry’s most consistent and elevated customer experience.”
