Emirates claims to be the first airline celebrating the 100th anniversary of Warner Bros. Studios with the introduction of a capsule collection of 100 of the production company’s films on its in-flight entertainment platform, ice.

Available from September 1, the “Warner Bros. 100 films” collection will feature some of the studio’s earliest classics, such as remastered versions of 1930s titles 42nd Street, The Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind, as well as 40s and 50s favorites like Casablanca and Singin’ in the Rain. It will move through 60s and 70s smash hits like Doctor Zhivago and 2001: A Space Odyssey as well as 80s and 90s films such as The Goonies and When Harry met Sally…

Finally, the collection will boast a host of titles from the “noughties” right up to Warner Bros.’ most recent blockbusters, including Elvis and The Flash.

Furthermore, Emirates will showcase a mini-series of four Max Original documentary specials that follow the history of Warner Bros. and its impact on art, commerce and culture. Released this year, 100 Years of Warner Bros. is narrated by Morgan Freeman and features interviews with filmmakers, actors and executives including Martin Scorsese, Oprah Winfrey, Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro, among others.

The collaboration between the airline and the Hollywood studio will add further variety to the range of entertainment available on Emirates’ ice platform, which includes over 2,000 movies, 650 TV shows and 4,000 hours of music, podcasts and audiobooks across 40 languages.

The carrier’s comprehensive entertainment offering compliments the availability of in-flight Wi-Fi, which Emirates made free for members of its Emirates Skywards program at the beginning of this year.

In April 2023, Emirates received the Global Passenger Choice Award for Best Entertainment at APEX Content Market in Istanbul, Turkey. The awards are based on passenger feedback gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt from Concur.
