Flame Distribution heads into next week’s APEX Multi Media Market fully loaded, with over 240 hours of fresh, eclectic content from around the globe.

After taking the Seatrade Cruise Global event by storm this week in Miami, Flame Distribution is set to do it all over again at the upcoming APEX Multi Media Market in Dublin with literally hundreds of hours of new content. Flame’s knack for bringing fun, unusual content to its airline customers and passengers is in fine form with this latest batch of offerings.

The titles run the gamut from breezy lifestyle and reality series to truly out-there documentaries like America’s Most Unusual Festivals – which explores the craziest annual celebrations in the US – and Does it Fart?, a science series for kids about passing gas.

“Our new offerings prove once again how diverse and unique our programming range is when we acquire content,” Flame’s VP Sales, Middle East, Hungary and Turkey; Worldwide Transport Sales & Digital Sales EMEA, Thomas Gould told APEX Media. “Flame is always looking to bring niche, esoteric content such as the Icelandic folklore documentary, In Search of the Eight Legged Horse, which explores the link between Odin’s mythological eight-legged horse and its four-legged ancestor, to light as our buyers have told us that their customers no longer want the same genres [and] appreciate more range and diverse content when they travel.”

And though the soaring popularity of offbeat fare with younger, YouTube generation passengers is pretty much a given at this point, Gould said that passengers of all ages seem increasingly open to more eclectic, outside-the-box content both in flight and beyond.

The hugely-popular Australian Slow TV sensation The Kimberly Cruise: Australia’s Last Great Wilderness, which takes viewers on a leisurely 1,001 nautical mile cruise along the rugged Australian coastline between Broome and Darwin, is one example. Aside from being entertaining, Gould said Cruise is also just the type of “educational, relaxing, escapist content” that Flame is looking to highlight this season. “Cruise follows the route of Muslim traders, Japanese pearlers, European explorers, pirates and refugees,” enthused Gould. “And if that doesn’t sound exciting, I don’t know what does!”

And for those seeking more familiar offerings, Gould says Flame also has loads of returning content on deck as well, including new episodes of the long-running travel series Getaways, the second season of the documentary series, My Greek Odyssey, and the luxury travelogue, Billionaire Wonderland, hosted by Sherlock star Yasmine Akram.

Gould suggested buyers should also leave room for Appetite For Adventure! hosted by the “posh pescatarian” herself, health and fitness icon, Stephanie Harris-Uyidi. Encouraging viewers to, as Gould describes it, “never loose their lust for adventure whilst seeking out new cultures,  experiences and fresh sustainable recipes” from around the world, Appetite is sure to please passengers of all ages.

“With that and many more fantastic new titles in our current catalogue I expect buyers from both the airline and cruise industry to be knocking on Flame’s door,” added Gould.
