Mythopoeia has announced that it will be equipping VivaAerobus’ entire fleet with its USB PowerStream solution. The deal covers up to 80 aircraft, including the airline’s existing fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

PowerStream features USB Type A and Type C outlets and is attached to the seat track, so the seat itself is not affected. This means every VivaAerobus passenger will have access to at least one USB outlet.

“Today the market is seeing a growing range of airlines deploying seatback power to support their passenger’s PEDs, and this is yet another step establishing Mythopoeia as a major player in that market,” said Terry Bonar, CEO of Mythopoeia.

The installations, which will take two nights per aircraft, are scheduled to begin on December 7, according to Bonar. The company plans to complete two aircraft installations per week. “We limit downtime of the aircraft,” Bonar said. “From a maintenance and installation perspective, our solution is very competitive.”

Mythopoeia expects to have equipped VivaAerobus’ existing fleet by early 2020. Installations will continue as the airline takes delivery of new aircraft. By 2025, the fleet will consist of 15 A320ceo, 24 A320neo and 41 A321neo aircraft.
