This is the third announcement the Shanghai-based carrier has made with Panasonic in the past year. And in July, China Eastern opted to linefit and retrofit another 84 aircraft with the in-flight connectivity (IFC) solution.

Through its partnership with local telecoms company China Telecom Satellite, Panasonic has been able to break into the IFC market in China, enabling it to provide connectivity on 99.6 percent of all air routes.
