The ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic mean that Reed Exhibitions has taken the decision to cancel this year’s PEC, AIX and WTCE.

After initially postponing the Passenger Experience Conference (PEC), Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) and World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) until later this year, Reed Exhibitions has now announced that the events will next take place in 2021, from April 12 to 15. The three events make up Passenger Experience Week.

“We are in unprecedented times and we’re witnessing first-hand the challenging impact of COVID-19 on airlines and the wider industry, from both a professional and personal perspective. In light of the ongoing uncertainty in the industry and the immense pressure our customers are experiencing, we have concluded that the best option is to postpone AIX, WTCE and PEC until 2021,” said Katie Murphy, portfolio director, Reed Exhibitions.

Murphy continued, “We understand how important it is for the industry to stay connected during this time. While we are disappointed that we can’t meet face-to-face this year, we are working with our partners to keep the AIX, WTCE and PEC community connected over the coming months. Details will be announced shortly.”

“APEX/IFSA has been a partner of Reed Exhibitions for five years. Before the external announcement about postponing their Passenger Experience Week until 2021, I spoke with Reed about how we can support one another and our industry through this critical time,” commented APEX/IFSA CEO, Dr. Joe Leader. “APEX/IFSA are so fortunate that our annual EXPO is in late October. We will be the flagship airline event this year, focused upon the strong and healthy recovery of our industry. The APEX/IFSA EXPO will be a ray of light for airlines and suppliers. We will shine that light forward with the baton passing back to Hamburg in April 2021.”

The aviation industry continues to be strongly affected by COVID-19. As such, APEX has launched a new editorial campaign, “What We’re Made Of.” To get involved, email editor@apex.aero.
