In-transit advertising products provider Motus has partnered with film sales company Shoreline Entertainment to bring ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) to the in-flight entertainment (IFE) industry.

Tammam Shaibani, board member at Motus, explained, “Motus and Shoreline will jointly market this product to airlines, which integrates our freemium service offering more than 200 hours of entertainment content and ad tech software. It gives airlines the choice to place dynamic advertising on their IFE content.”

The IFE catalog includes festival-winning feature films as well as documentaries, musicals, classic cartoons and popular TV series from across the globe.

“We simply require the content, so that we can insert it into our software platform to complete the ads ingest,” Shaibani continued. “We then personalize the advertising based on parameters including the flight route, season, time of the day, etc.”

Shoreline’s executive chairman, Sam Eigen, said, “In Shoreline Entertainment’s three decades of entrepreneurship in the entertainment industry, we have strived and survived by embracing new ideas; therefore, engaging with an innovative company like Motus is a natural fit.”

The partnership was announced at the World Aviation Festival in London.
