APEX Insight: LSG Group subsidiary SPIRIANT reaches major milestone as it celebrates ten years since expanding outside of Germany, with the opening of its Hong Kong location.
LSG Group subsidiary SPIRIANT is celebrating 10 years since opening the doors to its first international location outside of Germany. This occasion represents a major milestone in the in-flight products, equipment and logistics supplier’s “Going Global” initiative, an expansion plan that continues today.
In 2007, Hong Kong was chosen to be the company’s first international outpost. The location was selected in large part because of its geographic position, serving as a gateway to the largest manufacturing region of the world. The new Asia office enabled SPIRIANT to interact directly with manufacturers and created synergies in product development and sourcing.

A year later, as the company began sourcing larger volumes of product from the region, SPIRIANT installed a product quality team in Shanghai. This team was, and still is, focused on ensuring the company’s strict quality standards on all orders from the region.
“SPIRIANT has successfully evolved from a company which was entirely focused on our parent company Lufthansa to an industry-leading equipment expert serving more than 130 customers worldwide on all continents,” said Erdmann Rauer, CEO of LSG Group, during the celebration. “Our portfolio and expertise in this segment spans from crew and service equipment, smart solutions for leisure travelers, amenity kits and onboard comfort items to individually designed products to enhance the traveler experience.”
Today, SPIRIANT has additional offices in Dallas, Dubai, Istanbul and Santiago as well as a long-established home base in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt, Germany. The company works with a growing list of international airlines, supporting their needs for cabin equipment, comfort programs, service solutions and more. SPIRIANT sources thousands of items from a worldwide network of over 250 qualified suppliers, and a multicultural workforce of over 200 provides airline customers with design, engineering, quality control, sourcing, sales and logistical support.
