IMG’s 24/7 in-flight and in-ship live sports channel Sport 24 has renewed its agreement with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the governing body of European football and the umbrella organisation for 55 national football associations across Europe, for a further three years.

The renewal between IMG and UEFA extends the original agreement between the two parties, signed in 2015, to ten years and covers every UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matchday until the 2023/2024 season. This will generate 170 hours of live coverage across Sport 24 and its sister channel, Sport 24 Extra, each season.

Other broadcasts included in the deal are the UEFA Super Cup, contested by the winners of the two main European club competitions, and the UEFA Europa Conference League, which began this season. Elsewhere, Sport 24’s offering includes live action from the Premier League, European and Asian World Cup Qualifiers, NFL, NBA, NHL, golf’s Majors and tennis’ Grand Slams.

Richard Wise, SVP Content and Channels for IMG’s media business, commented on the value the UEFA agreement brings to the company, stating that being “backed by the UEFA Europa and Europa Conference Leagues gives airline and cruise line passengers an unbelievable offering of live football action.”

Launched in 2012, both Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are produced at IMG’s production headquarters located near London Heathrow Airport. Sport 24 is available as part of  Panasonic Avionics’  global live television service, which is installed on over 1,000 aircraft. IMG and Panasonic extended their partnership in January and, earlier this year, the pair also signed a deal with the Asian Football Confederation to add its content to Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra.
