Henning Jochmann, senior director of Aircraft Modification at Lufthansa Technik, discusses the benefits of aftermarket MRO services.

To differentiate themselves from the competition, airlines often rely on customization, creating unique cabin interiors or enabling enhanced digital services, such as in-flight connectivity. In this landscape, it’s clear one size does not fit all, and there are differences between the linefit solutions offered by OEMs and those of third-party maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers.

Watch this interview with Henning Jochmann, senior director of Aircraft Modification at Lufthansa Technik, to find out why aftermarket modifications are a better choice than linefit options for some carriers. Jochmann also explains why the Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance (IAMA) was formed, and how it’s brought rivals together to simplify and streamline the process for attaining and applying supplemental type certificates (STCs) for aftermarket projects.
