APEX Insight: Ever wondered how a Crystal Cabin Award (CCA) trophy is made? For the second year running, APEX Media produced the official CCA video, which gives an insider look at how the awards come to life.
The 2018 Crystal Cabin Award video is made possible by the support of Global Eagle.
This year’s official Crystal Cabin Award video, produced by APEX Media, takes viewers behind the scenes of the 3D-printing process used by Germany-based additive manufacturing company FIT AG, which also uses the technology to manufacture aircraft parts, to create the award trophies.
In the footage, the winners express how it feels to receive a CCA (or three, as was the case for APEX member Rockwell Collins). Several APEX members saw success this year, with Bluebox Aviation winning the first-ever Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity award presented by APEX CEO Joe Leader.
The ceremony at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski was hosted by APEX Media director Maryann Simson, who announced the opening of the submission phase for the annual APEX Awards, which will be announced at APEX EXPO, taking place in Boston, Massachusetts, from 24-27 September 2018.
