Wamos Air Becomes Immfly’s Second Long-Haul Airline Customer

APEX Insight: Spanish long-haul carrier Wamos Air has deployed a new wireless in-flight entertainment solution developed by Immfly on two of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
Wamos On Air, the new wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) solution developed for Wamos Air by Immfly, has been providing passengers onboard two of the carrier’s four Boeing 747-400 aircraft with complimentary access to IFE content since going live a few weeks’ ago.
Passengers can access the content – including movies, music and TV shows in English and Spanish – without downloading an application. Instead, they must activate airplane mode on their personal electronic devices, select the ‘WAMOS-ONAIR’ Wi-Fi network and type in www.wamos-onair.com once they have opened their chosen browser.
Immfly says it designed the Wamos On Air platform to offer flexibility when it comes to accessing news content. Passengers can either read it in a newsfeed format, which doesn’t require downloading, or save the newsfeed to their personal devices as a PDF if they want to continue reading it on the ground.
The solution also makes it easy for people to engage directly with both the airline and Immfly. In addition to providing a help center, which answers frequently asked questions about the platform, Immfly developed a feature to report incidents regarding either Wamos On Air or other aspects of the airline’s onboard services.
Immfly can also be contacted directly if passengers are interested in advertising on the platform. Maria Girao, Immfly’s Marketing and Communications manager, says there are opportunities to promote hotels, restaurants and destination activities within dedicated sections of the Wamos On Air platform, with prices starting from ‚¬400 per month.
Wamos Air is Immfly’s second long-haul airline customer after XL Airways, which began introducing the company’s wireless IFE platform under the name XL Cloud across its Airbus A330 fleet in early 2017. The deal Wamos Air also marks Immfly’s fourth Spanish carrier customer, in addition to Air Nostrum, Iberia Express and Volotea.
